BOHO Inspired Easter Egg

Okay, we couldn’t help ourselves! If you follow us, or know me personally you know I have a love of all things boho, but especially mud cloth. So, we made up these boho inspired Easter eggs for a different take on egg decorating!

BOHO Inspired Easter Egg

There really isn’t a huge DIY for this post other than:

  1. Boil your egg.
  2. Take a Sharpie, and create a boho inspired pattern. We used some of my pillows as inspiration!

The Goods

Eggs

Small terracotta pots

White paint

Decorative Sand

Extra fine Sharpie

Tissue Paper

Cardstock (I used white and copper)

Hot Glue

(All products available at Michaels)

  1. Begin by boiling your eggs as per usual.
  2. While eggs are boiling, paint your pot white (you can do any color but I wanted mine more modern)
  3. After your eggs are done, simply take your Sharpie and draw lines, x’s, dots, and dashes are various eggs to create a cactus vibe.
  4. To make the flower, take a small portion of your tissue paper, fold in half, and cut strips as in making fringe. Then fold the base as to create a lip and hot glue it to your egg.
  5. To make the arms, we cut various shapes of out card stock that resembled a cactus, folded a pieces at the bottom to create a lip so it would be easy to hot glue the arm to the egg.
  6. Fill your pot with decorative sand.
  7. Place egg on top of sand, and you have the cutest cactus egg garden ever!

The Shift Creative Shop Launch Party

As you may have heard, The Shift Creative has launched an online shop full of home decor goodies like custom tapestry banners, rope hangings, pom pom plant hangers, and more! This was plenty reason to party, so party we did! I hosted the party at 31 Bits in Costa Mesa, and it was the perfect spot! I wanted to create an art gallery vibe so we created 3 very different art installations for a wow factor, and I can’t get enough of them! Many hands helped make this event so awesome, so keep scrollin’ for all the deets and vendors!

Heart eyes for that green foliage wall! Pick Tulip nailed it in the floral department!

I am huge on styling, especially when it comes to the tabletop so lets just say Farra of Hostess Haven is my spirit animal (I’ve never said that before, but it felt right haha!). She has the best selection of flatware, linens, all things copper, and much more! And lets not forget that food spread!!! Amiho Experience blew it out of the water with all this grub, and my guests couldn’t stop raving!

1. Layer your color palette on top of one another. I chose four sheets, but if you want it to be thicker add more.

2. Cut your tissue paper to fit to your bowl.

3. Make fringe on either side of the paper being sure not to cut to the middle.

4. Staple the tissue paper together down the middle

5. Ruffle the tissue paper with your fingers so you can no longer see the staples.

6. Tape the garland alongside your bowl.

7. Fill with chips, dips, limes, and more!

Amy Clarke Makeup Workshop

When Amy approached me to execute her vision for her very first makeup workshop I couldn’t be more excited! We previously had worked together, and bonded over our love of desserts and relationship to Jesus. Over the course of a couple months we planned the workshop to be more than an event, but rather an experience where the girls that attended would truly feel welcomed, as well as gaining valuable skills. Check out all the photos by Logan Cole, and more on all the vendors who really made this day WOW!

One aspect that we thought was important was to have a full dining experience, complete with mid century table top additions from Hostess Haven, and gorgeous blooms from Bloomwell! Those faux Sputnik chandeliers I created myself to complete the modern look, and I love the way they really enhanced the tablescape!

You Still Got it Mamma Event

If you missed it on Glitter Guide this month, this “You Still Got It Mamma” event was a labor of love, but well worth it! Beijos Events and myself thought it appropriate to give back to mammas that we work alongside with in this creative industry for a time to let our hair down, and connect with one another! Wayfare HQ, located in Costa Mesa, generously provided their fabulous space for us to create something magical for the mamma’s! They were the perfect spot for hosting this event, but they also do much more than that so check them out for upcoming workshops, co-working spaces, or if you want to throw your own party! It truly was a time to encourage and love one another, as well as to serve as a creative catalyst for future events to come! All photos were captured by Megan Welker, however a very long list of vendors made this party AMAZING! Keep reading to get all the deets and rad people behind it!
