I am excited to finally share my babe Sullivan’s nursery today over on 100 Layer Cakelet! It was so much fun to design. I went back and forth on what vibe I wanted, but I knew I wanted to incorporate black. I have really been into black lately. I centered everything around the rug I got from my girl, Flea Market Fab! It is my favorite! Scroll through for more pictures (shot by Kayla Adams)+ details!

Joanna Waterfall has created The Yellow Conference as a space for creative women to connect and make a difference. I had the honor to design and attend the 3 day conference, and I was really blown away with the execution from their team and panel of speakers. If you haven’t been, I would really suggest looking into it for this year. I’ll be designing some fun things for this one as well, so come say hi! The design process took several months of hard work, and preparation so take a look at some of my work highlights below!
Okay, let’s get real- starting a business can get overwhelming! Our custom art installations captured the journey of emotions that goes on during business start-up and through the creative process in general.
Each attendee received a guide that described each art piece as they followed decals on the floor.
Meet Grit. The first installation of the 3 part series was created to connect the observer on an emotional level through their own storms in life.
“There is a storm coming. I can feel it. I’m caught up in the throws of chaos and disappointment. I hear the chatter of others- “Is there even money in what you do?”…“It doesn’t seem practical this creative hobby you do”…Their words seem all too familiar as I battle with similar fears- “I am not good enough, talented enough, creative enough, pretty enough. I am not enough.” I feel overwhelmed. Can’t breathe. Crippled by fear. No. No, I won’t let this storm overcome me. I will preserve. I can see the light. I can feel its warmth. The yellow rays are bursting forth. I close my eyes, I can see the Sun.”
Meet Valor. The second installation prompting courage and steadfastness. “I have to fight. Say no the darkness and yes to the light. Put up my shield. Hold it tight. Sweaty hands. Fight the good fight. Fear has no hold. Navigate this storm with valor and might. It will be hard, as most things are. Those doubting thoughts keep creeping in. Hold them captive. Get past myself.”
Meet Heart. The third and final installation describing moments of success and contentment. “Magical moments of joy and laughter. Connecting with others. Growth. Wisdom. Love. Vision and Creativity. Ideas to Execution. Grit & Valor, yes these are apart of Heart too. I wouldn’t know what joy is if I didn’t have to go through these two. No, you have not made it- you never truly will, but these moments of awe make it worth it all.”
After the 3rd installation all guests walked through the doors to the main conference area and were encouraged to mingle and find a seat.
Our yarn chandeliers were the talk of the town! These fun pieces were definitely the perfect addition to the event!
Yarn! Yarn! And more yarn! I’m not exactly sure how much yarn we used for this piece, but it turned out to be such a dream!
I want to just point out this next level photo-booth by The Dainty Lion! I was swooning over her floral work throughout the conference!
Hope some of this resonated with you and that you feel encouraged and inspired! I so hope to see you this year!

We are officially in the thick of all the holiday craziness with gifts to purchase, lights to hang, groceries to buy, and so on. The last thing we want to worry about is a designing a tablescape. Sure, you might opt to do the ole paper plate and plastic cup gig, but with this shoot inspiration you should be motivated to not settle! Don’t think over the top, think timeless. Don’t think cluttered, think simple. You can easily accomplish this minimal and classic look!
First things first- grab some neutral elements. Don’t try to get crazy with pattern play when you’re in a pinch for time. We got our tabletop goods from Borrowed Blu. I also have white plates from IKEA that would work for this look as well!
Want to impress your guests? Instead of spending hours in the kitchen why not order from your favorite bakery this year? We used Beverly’s Bakery! She is located in Yorba Linda and Fullerton and can customize some yummy desserts especially for you and your guests. I mean, it doesn’t get much cuter than those mini blueberry tarts and rosemary wreath cupcakes!
Need a tablecloth, but don’t want to spend lots of $$$$? Head to your local craft store and pick up some fun textured fabric. We chose grey suede and loved it!
Since simple is the name of the game this year I’ll introduce you to this crowd favorite. The good ole charcuterie board (fancy for meat and cheese) by Smoke and Brine Co.! They are local to the San Diego area so be sure to check them out for all your cheese + meat lovin’ needs! If you want to give it a go at home choose some of your holiday favorites like pomegranates, dried oranges, + candied walnuts and pair them with an array of meat and cheeses. If you really wanna get crazy complement the board with some dark chocolate and no one will even notice if your turkey is a little on the dry side. 😉
Lastly, but in my opinion the most important element, are the florals. The simplest arrangement like this one from Penelope Pots Floral Design can really make a huge impact on your table setting! This is proof that you really don’t have to overdo it!
I hope that you were able to gather a few last minute holiday tips and inspiration that’ll make your Christmas that much more enjoyable. Now, you can spend more time with family and less time running around! Have a Merry Christmas!

My work tends to get messy. From creating installations to styling parties, my studio and my hands are typically not so neat. method partnered with me to #fearnomess, when well- life gets messy. This DIY dyed backdrop was one of those times where my hands were wrecked from hand cutting, and dying numerous fabric strips and then macraming them together for a finished look! method reminds me to go all in- to create for the sake of creating, to create for myself, and to create to inspire others.
This backdrop was so fun and easy to make!
Plus, all the ingredients method uses are eco-friendly using non-toxic ingredients! Win-win!

I had the pleasure of designing the Crate and Barrel + 100 Layer Cake private registry event. The goal of the event is for newly weds to get the opportunity to browse items for their registry, to connect with vendors to make their big day special, to register for items, and to get a chance to win big item giveaways like an all exclusive honeymoon package, and an event design and media package for the wedding day! (Trust me, I was wishing I wasn’t married yet so I could enter!) It was an epic day, with some amazing vendors! Keep on reading to see what was created!
Tabletop design and eucalyptus install done by me and my team greeted the guests as they entered the doors, and created for a fun window display even after the event.
How rad is that shield sign by Lovely Paper Things?! I secretly wanted to keep it if only the verbiage fit. (Also, she is seriously my hero for pulling off all the last minute signs, and paper additions for this event!)
Here’s a little peek at our photo backdrop that we hand marbled! Yes, by hand. No, the picture does not do it justice! How fun is that triangle by Relevant and Raw?
This copper and rope tent was probably my favorite thing I created for the event! It actually was a last minute idea to create a moscow mule station, but I figured I needed to make it as rad as possible and I freakin love it!
My girl Sweet and Saucy always brings it with the desserts.
Cutest sign. The answer is yes. I always want donuts.
Emblem Flowers brought her A-game with such pretty arrangements, and a floral crown station!

We partnered with Convivial Production, a ceramic company specializing in handmade dinnerware and home decor accessories like plant holders and fruit bowls, to show off their brand as well as some of the new items featured in their Spring Collection. After looking through their catalog, I could not wait to receive my own order and show off their product. Not only are they unique in appearance, but the craftsmanship is top notch! Take a look, and you’ll fall in love like I did.
Pictured above is their cheese plate, but we used it to plate ice cream because why not?!
Anyone who knows me, knows I am a crazy plant lady. I actually find it hard to find a planter that I like! Either they aren’t the right color, or they aren’t the right style. These plant holders have a sophisticated and modern vibe I love and they definitely have found a good home!

I couldn’t help myself when it came to celebrating the arrival of my best friends baby boy! I have to admit we threw one heck of an Over the Moon inspired baby shower to celebrate her! Once the theme came to mind, Lovely Paper Things made it a reality with adorable moon phase prints and name card rockets, as well as the most swoon-worthy invites! We created a tablescape that perfectly accented the courtyard and string light setting using rentals from Folklore Rentals and florals from Bloom Babes. Our sweet friend, Cakes and Cuties, made the most adorable and delicious desserts (moon and star cookies? yes, please!) to pair perfectly with the meat and cheese boards that were at each table ontop the cutest cutting boards we’ve seen by The Duo Studio! All of it pulled together beautifully, and it was a perfect night to celebrate my best! Thanks so much to Inspired by This for featuring such a special event!
This whole indigo and copper mix is my new favorite color combo! (P.S we hand dyed those shibori inspired napkins!)
Seriously? These rocket name cards are the best- hands down!
I think we can all agree that there is nothing better than a good meat and cheese board!
