When Little Peanut Magazine approached me to be apart of their little space in the digital magazine world I was super excited to gather some friends, and littles to create something really magical. They asked me to share some tips and tricks when it comes to entertaining, and how to pull it all off with kids! Go there to read the full article! I would throw this kind of party any day + Kayla Adams captured the day in all its glory gorgeously!
I don’t say this often, but this might be my favorite floral centerpiece done by Pick Tulip!

I had the pleasure of designing the Crate and Barrel + 100 Layer Cake private registry event. The goal of the event is for newly weds to get the opportunity to browse items for their registry, to connect with vendors to make their big day special, to register for items, and to get a chance to win big item giveaways like an all exclusive honeymoon package, and an event design and media package for the wedding day! (Trust me, I was wishing I wasn’t married yet so I could enter!) It was an epic day, with some amazing vendors! Keep on reading to see what was created!
Tabletop design and eucalyptus install done by me and my team greeted the guests as they entered the doors, and created for a fun window display even after the event.
How rad is that shield sign by Lovely Paper Things?! I secretly wanted to keep it if only the verbiage fit. (Also, she is seriously my hero for pulling off all the last minute signs, and paper additions for this event!)
Here’s a little peek at our photo backdrop that we hand marbled! Yes, by hand. No, the picture does not do it justice! How fun is that triangle by Relevant and Raw?
This copper and rope tent was probably my favorite thing I created for the event! It actually was a last minute idea to create a moscow mule station, but I figured I needed to make it as rad as possible and I freakin love it!
My girl Sweet and Saucy always brings it with the desserts.
Cutest sign. The answer is yes. I always want donuts.
Emblem Flowers brought her A-game with such pretty arrangements, and a floral crown station!

We partnered with Convivial Production, a ceramic company specializing in handmade dinnerware and home decor accessories like plant holders and fruit bowls, to show off their brand as well as some of the new items featured in their Spring Collection. After looking through their catalog, I could not wait to receive my own order and show off their product. Not only are they unique in appearance, but the craftsmanship is top notch! Take a look, and you’ll fall in love like I did.
Pictured above is their cheese plate, but we used it to plate ice cream because why not?!
Anyone who knows me, knows I am a crazy plant lady. I actually find it hard to find a planter that I like! Either they aren’t the right color, or they aren’t the right style. These plant holders have a sophisticated and modern vibe I love and they definitely have found a good home!

I couldn’t help myself when it came to celebrating the arrival of my best friends baby boy! I have to admit we threw one heck of an Over the Moon inspired baby shower to celebrate her! Once the theme came to mind, Lovely Paper Things made it a reality with adorable moon phase prints and name card rockets, as well as the most swoon-worthy invites! We created a tablescape that perfectly accented the courtyard and string light setting using rentals from Folklore Rentals and florals from Bloom Babes. Our sweet friend, Cakes and Cuties, made the most adorable and delicious desserts (moon and star cookies? yes, please!) to pair perfectly with the meat and cheese boards that were at each table ontop the cutest cutting boards we’ve seen by The Duo Studio! All of it pulled together beautifully, and it was a perfect night to celebrate my best! Thanks so much to Inspired by This for featuring such a special event!
This whole indigo and copper mix is my new favorite color combo! (P.S we hand dyed those shibori inspired napkins!)
Seriously? These rocket name cards are the best- hands down!
I think we can all agree that there is nothing better than a good meat and cheese board!

Okay, we couldn’t help ourselves! If you follow us, or know me personally you know I have a love of all things boho, but especially mud cloth. So, we made up these boho inspired Easter eggs for a different take on egg decorating!
There really isn’t a huge DIY for this post other than:
- Boil your egg.
- Take a Sharpie, and create a boho inspired pattern. We used some of my pillows as inspiration!
These are super easy, fun, and an alternative to dying! Tag me @theshiftcreative, so I can see how yours turn out!
Happy Easter! xo … Read More
I know it’s cutting it close, but these cactus Easter eggs were too cute not to share! I have seen some forms of these floating the web, but we added our own twist to them and really love the outcome! Safe to say these might be our new Easter egg tradition. They are really easy, and perfect for a little Easter gift, or Easter basket addition! Keep reading for instructions….
Small terracotta pots
Extra fine Sharpie
Cardstock (I used white and copper)
(All products available at Michaels)
- Begin by boiling your eggs as per usual.
- While eggs are boiling, paint your pot white (you can do any color but I wanted mine more modern)
- After your eggs are done, simply take your Sharpie and draw lines, x’s, dots, and dashes are various eggs to create a cactus vibe.
- To make the flower, take a small portion of your tissue paper, fold in half, and cut strips as in making fringe. Then fold the base as to create a lip and hot glue it to your egg.
- To make the arms, we cut various shapes of out card stock that resembled a cactus, folded a pieces at the bottom to create a lip so it would be easy to hot glue the arm to the egg.
- Fill your pot with decorative sand.
- Place egg on top of sand, and you have the cutest cactus egg garden ever!
I seriously cannot wait to give these DIY Cactus Easter Eggs to some of my daughters friends for Easter, and put one in her little basket for Sunday! I hope you all have a happy Easter, and can truly celebrate Jesus! He has risen, and thats way more special than these cactus eggs. 😉

I am FINALLY bloggin’ my little babes double birthday party with her best! As seen on Inspired By This, the dessert table has been the most pinned, reposted, and liked photo of any of my dessert tables, and I can see why! Sweet and Saucy nailed it when it came to bringing some of my ideas to life ( Cactus cake, cactus donuts, taco cupcakes and more!) From the chips and quac bar to the on site taco man, this party was the perfect fiesta! Keep reading to see more photos from Amber Thrane of Dulcet Creative.
Was I right about these desserts or was I right?

We handmade ALL of these paper cacti, and I have to say I still haven’t parted with them! They were perfect for a backdrop vignette!

As you may have heard, The Shift Creative has launched an online shop full of home decor goodies like custom tapestry banners, rope hangings, pom pom plant hangers, and more! This was plenty reason to party, so party we did! I hosted the party at 31 Bits in Costa Mesa, and it was the perfect spot! I wanted to create an art gallery vibe so we created 3 very different art installations for a wow factor, and I can’t get enough of them! Many hands helped make this event so awesome, so keep scrollin’ for all the deets and vendors!
Heart eyes for that green foliage wall! Pick Tulip nailed it in the floral department!
I am huge on styling, especially when it comes to the tabletop so lets just say Farra of Hostess Haven is my spirit animal (I’ve never said that before, but it felt right haha!). She has the best selection of flatware, linens, all things copper, and much more! And lets not forget that food spread!!! Amiho Experience blew it out of the water with all this grub, and my guests couldn’t stop raving!
15 feet long weaving? Yes, please! (psstt.. also available to buy!)
These desserts are EVERYTHING! Jeanine @cakesandcuties is a genius when it comes to executing a vision in the kitchen, and this time was no different.
Lift Coffee Roasters crafted drinks & Poppy Jack Shop calligraphy-match made in heaven.
Bounty was constructed by assembling A LOT of hand made shapes, and quickly became a lot of peoples favorite!
Babel was a beast to make, and is one of my personal favorites! Its depth and texture has my heart, and I love how I designed it so that it is a sculpture you can view from many angles!
Mobile Photo Booth is by far the BEST quality booth I have ever been in. The quality of the photos was outstanding!
Watch this video to see how awkward I sound. k bye.
Hope you are inspired! Now go shop the new shop! xo
